Man who accused Taaooma over false N1.5m skit issues public apology

A Nigerian man identified as Ola Owolabi (@olaondeck) has come out with a public apology to comedian, Maryam Apaokagi aka Taaooma, days after levelling false allegations against her.

@olaondeck in a letter of apology shared across his social media pages made it clear that he has retracted the false claims he made about the comedian charging N1.5 million for a skit, and refusing to make amends to an unsatisfied client.

According to the individual, he has never had any personal or business transaction with the female comedian.

"I wish to state that I have not had any personal/business transaction with Miss Apaokagi-@taaooma."

Taaooma’s accuser went on to add that he did not consider the ramifications of his actions before putting out the false statements.

According to him, the tweet was pulled down from his page shortly after sharing it.

The individual also noted that he never intended to bring any disrepute to the comedian’s reputation.

"Please note that I did not intend to bring @taaooma’s reputation into any form of disrepute. I sincerely apologize and regret any inconveniences this might have caused @taaooma."

Recall that days ago after @olaondeck’s tweet went viral, Legit.ng reported that the comedian’s management company, The Greenade Company, issued a statement on social media to clear the air and counter the individuals claim.

The statement read in part:

"Taaooma and management never had any communications or business dealings whatsoever with this person. He is alien to us until these false tweets today. Over the years, Taaooma have proven herself to be steadfast in her dealings and bring to her large fans nothing but the best f comedy thereby bringing to most, joy and happiness through her craft."
