A video has gone viral on social media in which some Nigerian men believed to be internet fraudsters were seen spraying bundles of money into a river.
Nigerians on social media believe that the act is fetish-related and a means to replenish their wealth.
In the video, four young men could be seen rinsing their faces with the filthy water.
Nigerians took to the comment section of the video which was shared on Instagram by @lindaikejiblogofficial to share their thoughts.
"They are giving back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar."
"If ur wealth doesn’t come from GOD, the devil will always frustrate you."
"How is this ritual?? Nawa ooo. Just like you believe in Jesus Christ and go to church with offerings, others have their own traditional gods that they pay respect to. This isn’t ritual."
"I got nothing with the video but even Jesus said “give ceazar what belongs to ceazar and give God his” many Africans don’t and that’s why they are in abject poverty. Sacrifice is necessary to get to the next level."
In other news, a Nigerian lady on Twitter simply identified as Ifunanya has shared a hilarious conversation she had with an internet fraudster she met on a dating site.
The lady with the handle @lovealwaysify was contacted by the Nigerian fraudster who adopted the name Clyde Crow on the dating site.
After Clyde's message to her, Ifunanya sent him a voice note and requested that the man reciprocate.
