Juventus' Italian League title defence suffered yet another huge setback following their 2-0 defeat to Inter Milan at San Siro on Sunday, January 17.
A goal each from Arturo Vidal and Nicolo Barella in either half of the encounter propelled Antonio Conte's men over their visitors.
Inter are now joint table toppers with city rivals AC Milan with 40 points apiece despite playing a game more.
Chilean attacker Vidal powered home an unstoppable header from Alessandro Bastoni's cross in the 12th minute.
The former Barcelona midfielder jumped high up above before producing a superb header which eventually handed them the lead.
Barella who was outstanding for the most part of the game doubled Inter's lead seven minutes into the resumption,
The 23-year-old made a timely run to connect with Alessandro Bastoni's long pass and then powered the ball into the net after outrunning Juve defenders.
Andrea Pirlo's men remain seven points behind league leaders as they currently have 33 points from 17 topflight matches so far this campaign.
And the result has a negative outcome on their Serie A title defence as the race to retain the silverware looks more impossible this term.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian striker Simeon Nwankwo was on target twice as Crotone claim an emphatic Serie A victory 4-1 over Benevento at the Stadio Ezio Scida on Sunday, January 17.
The 28-year-old Super Eagles forward has now recorded six goals in 18 Italian League appearances this campaign.
Though his side is still rock-bottom on the table with 12 points, a few more wins will catapult them out of the relegation zone.
