Truly, there is nothing that can stand in the way of someone who is determined and passionate about something at the same time. This is the exact story of Deborah Zephaniah.
The young Nigerian lady, in spite of her inability to get a digital camera, creates awe-striking and jaw-dropping moments with the aid of her smartphone, moments that are only natural with a camera.
Deborah told Legit.ng that she had always had a thing for pictures. She said even as a teenager she wasn't just satisfied with having her pictures idle on her phone - she wanted fulfilment.
The Taraba State indigene said she'd always giggle each time she learnt a photographer was coming to take shots of her. She desired more.
"As a child, I'll grin and giggle whenever am been informed that a photograper will be coming to take us some shots.
"Growing up, I had a lot of pictures but still I wasn't satisfied neither was I feeling fulfilled because I didn't just want to be photographed, I wanted to photograph people, nature and a lot more..."
According to her, the advent of smartphone meant she can still pursue her passion and make people see the world through moments she captures. For her, it was an opportunity to freeze moments.
In the coming years, the 20-year-old strives to encourage people who love photography like she does that they shouldn't allow their inability to acquire a digital camera to stop them from doing what makes them happy.
She is based in Benin Republic where she continues what she termed 'creative photography'.
