- Mixed reactions followed the tweet with people dropping different opinions
Nollywood actor, Seun Kentebe, has got people dishing hot takes after he revealed on Twitter that even though he has been married to his wife for 7 years, his mother still does not like her.
Even though the film star did not go into details or reveal what caused the dislike, he mentioned that he had accepted his fate and would move on with his life regardless.
"7 years in and my Mom still doesn't like my Wife. I've accepted my fate. We move."
In a follow-up tweet, expressing that he did not expect the tweet to go viral or get people talking, the actor stated that his mother is a sweet soul, and maybe she was one of those women who had a hard time letting their firstborn son go.
"I'd like to add that my tweet was not in any way meant to demonize my Mom; she's a sweet soul. I've realized it's a firstborn son problem: some Mothers have a hard time letting go of their first sons and that's the hand I've been dealt. Thanks. Till she comes around, i'll keep managing the situation."
Nigerians took to the comment section to give reasons for the strained relationship as well as share their experiences as well.
"Guy !! My mother and mother-in-law nearly fight for my wedding, for three years my mum didn’t speak to my wife after four years marriage pack up !! I deh my day like this .. nobody deh cross my path like this !!"
"I don't think this is really a problem, except you make it one. If your mum doesn't want 2 see your wife, then keep both separate. Stop all this trying to mend them, she doesn't like your wife, period. U have your life ahead of you, your mum has lived most of hers. All d best."
"I can’t even marry a man that his mum doesn’t love me, I’ll leave. It’s too mentally, emotionally & physically draining. You’re already married, your wife is your home, love her and stand by her. Love your mum continuously still and hope God intervenes. Give to each her own."
"But why honestly, why do mothers have such a hard time letting go of their sons?? After entering their own husband's house another woman should not rest in her own??? Well done for standing up for your wife."
In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that twin sisters got married to one man because they can not live without each other.
According to Nelson Obidan on Twitter, the twin sisters dressed in similar maroon and gold coloured ceremonial outfits and posed for photographs with their husband.
