- The Portuguese manager led Tottenham to their first domestic Cup final in 12 years following the win over Brentford
- Spurs will now face the winner of Man United and Man City in the second semi-finals
Jose Mourinho has insisted that Tottenham have the winning mentality to land their first trophy in 13 years after making it through to the Carabao Cup final, Mirror.
As a manager, the Special One is aiming for his fifth League Cup title having previously won three with Chelsea and one with Man United.
Spurs overcame hard fighting Brentford by 2-0 in the semis as they await the winner between Man United and Man City.
Tottenham boss Mourinho said:
“I came to England 2004 and I remember in that period I had to learn the meaning of the cups here and I always took it seriously.
“If there is any secret it’s to always take it seriously and respect the teams with smaller quality and go with ambition.
“What I sense in the team is that winning mentality. The guys took it seriously. If you see the winners, you see that the big clubs want to win it.
“Who was the last winner outside of the normal top six? The big clubs care about it. When April arrives we have to be ready and to fight for the trophy.”

Spurs went on to dominate the opening exchanges of the clash, with the visitors struggling to settle in.
