Olivier Giroud claims his best headed-goal is against Arsenal in UEL final

Olivier Giroud has stated that his best-headed goal in his career was against his former club Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League final.

The Frenchman broke the deadlock as the match ended in a 4-1 win for the Maurizio Sarri led Chelsea side.

Ironically, the Blues' current Sporting Director was in goal for the north London club before calling it quits and returning to Stamford Bridge to take up an administrative role.

Giroud claimed that his diving header in the Europa League final when asked about his best-headed goal.

The 33-year-old told Chelsea's website as quoted by Sun:

"There are a few! I liked that one against Liverpool (at Stamford Bridge in 2018) because it was not easy.
"I liked the one in the Europa League final.
"I like diving headers because it means you come with pace and you have the force of your body.
"Petr can tell you I maybe couldn’t have had a better connection.
"I went 100 per cent for it and didn’t even think my friend Laurent Koscielny could put his foot and hit me.
"This was definitely one of the best."

Giroud has scored seven goals in nine appearances for the Blues so far this season including the four goals against Sevilla in the Champions League.

And the Frenchman has reportedly told Lampard that he wants more playing time to help his national team career with France ahead of the Euro 2021 Championships.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that France international Olivier Giroud who currently plays for Chelsea in the Premier League has told Frank Lampard to give him more active playing time this term at Stamford Bridge.

This latest development came after the Frenchman netted four goals for Chelsea in their impressive victory over Sevilla in the Champions League.

It was an incredible day for Olivier Giroud as the striker was also hailed by fans on social media after the Champions League encounter.
