Karim Benzema becomes the third ever player after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to score 50 goals in the Champions League group stages.

The Frenchman scored twice in Real Madrid's much-needed 2-0 triumph over Borussia Moenchengladbach at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on Wednesday, December 9.

His goals also ensured Los Blancos avoided crashing out of the top European competition at the group stage as they atop of the table with 10 points after six games.
