When asked if his refusal to recognise President Donald Trump or the former vice president would harm US-Russia relations, he replied, noting that the alliance has already been ruined.

In another report by Daily Mail, Putin revealed that the reason he is yet to recognise Biden is because the incumbent president and his friend, Trump, has not acknowledged the Democrat candidate's projected victory.

He went on to note that his decision to not congratulate Biden is 'a formality' with no ulterior motives.
