EndSARS: Folarin breaks silence, says over 350 motorcycles, other items looted from his house

Hours after hoodlums under the umbrella of EndSARS protesters stormed his house and looted some items including motorcycles and freezers, a member of the National Assembly representing Oyo Central senatorial district, Senator Teslim Folarin, has reacted.

Channels TV reports that the lawmaker in a statement issued on Saturday, October 24, revealed that over 1,100 empowerment items such as motorcycles, deep freezers, generators, and grinding machines, among others were looted from his house at the Oluyole Estate extension in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.

Legit.ng gathered that Folarin, who is also the Senate committee chairman on local content, noted that the attack was carried out by some coordinated hoodlums.

He described the invasion as evil, barbaric and unfortunate, saying he was thankful that no fatality was recorded.

He said he used his personal money to procure additional materials, adding that he took stock of the materials ahead of a mega empowerment programme scheduled to hold in November 2020.

Senator Folarin said:

Looted materials included over 350 motorcycles, 400 deep freezers, 350 generators, grinding machines, sewing machines, hairdressing and barbing salon materials, vulcanising machines and many more.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that hundreds of youths on Friday, October 23, burst the Cocoa House in the Ede area of Osun state and looted various food items kept in it.

It was reported that the youths and residents thronged the area around 11:40 am and carted away packs of noodles, rice, sugar, garri, and other food items kept for COVID-19 palliatives.

In another report, Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom addressed citizens of the state following widespread violence, looting and arson that were perpetuated in Uyo, the state capital recently.

The incident occurred after a peaceful #EndSARS protest was hijacked by criminals and hoodlums.
