A young man and his friends have introduced what may just be a very progressive plot twist to traditional baby showers. The event, which is usually a no-guy-zone and held for expectant mothers, was recently held for a man who just had a baby girl.
Pictures of the doting dad and his little girl surrounded by pink decor were shared with surprised Facebookers who were both taken aback and happy for the dad. In the pictures, the new dad sits with his newborn with many gifts placed all around them.
Social media users who are obviously not accustomed to seeing a man in a baby shower setting expressed their surprise as well as congratulatory messages for the young proud father. Many of them took a liking to the idea, calling it "progressive."
Here are some of the comments made by the friends and followers of the new father.
Ngoako Moloi NK asked:
"Are they friends or partners? This is progressive."
Thabile Buthelezi said:
"I love this."
Kgaogelo Emeldah said:
"Woooow... I'm impressed."
While Smangele Mtsweni-Mlangeni said:
"This is beautiful."
In other news, a video was posted on Twitter by social media user @amietorii showing a baby shower gone wrong.
A man hosted a baby shower for his bae when his side chick, who is also pregnant, showed up at the celebration.
The other woman was visibly enraged over the baby shower and she decided to disrupt it. She threw the gifts off a table and started slapping other people.
Throughout the clip, she confronts her alleged baby daddy.
The tweet was captioned: "Apparently this man throws a baby shower. And then boom, another baby mama shows up and turns things up. Men are what again?"
