Following the sudden defection of former House of Reps speaker, Yakubu Dogara from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) back to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), party leaders in his constituency of Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro local government areas have faulted his latest move.

Nigerian Tribune reports that in a statement signed by the three PDP chairmen, Ladan Kafinta Dass, Abdullah Abdu of Tafawa Balewa and Emmanuel Zakka of Bogoro LGAs, Dogara made his move without consulting them.

They said they don't know the reason for his re-defection to APC.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Dogara disclosed why he defected from the PDP APC. The lawmaker in a letter of resignation addressed to the Bogoro ‘C’ ward chairman of the PDP dated July 24, 2020, said the breakdown of governance in his native state of Bauchi prompted his defection.

The former speaker noted that if he were to remain in the PDP, he would be accused of disloyalty for questioning governance under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed whom he said he helped install as a governor in 2019.
