Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the ruling APC campaign monitoring sub-committee of the national campaign council for Edo state governorship election on Thursday, July 16, met to strategise over the September 19 governorship election in the state.
It was reported that the meeting, which took place behind-closed-doors at the national secretariat of the party, lasted for about 45 minutes before it was moved to an undisclosed venue in the capital city.
It was gathered that in attendance were the chairman of the sub-committee and Imo governor, Hope Uzodinma, who is also the deputy chairman of the national campaign council; the deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege and Professor Julius Ihonvibere among others.
The party's flagbearer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and his running mate, Gani Audu, were also in attendance. The committee members and Ize-Iyamu failed to speak to newsmen.
In another report, some members of the APC professionals registered under the umbrella of APC Professional Forum (APCPF) threatened mass exit if the party continues to ignore them in appointive positions.
The members of the forum comprise technocrats, intellectuals, experts and professionals across all fields, work, disciplines and areas of endeavours that are card-carrying members.
The national coordinator of the group, Akeem Akintayo, made this known while addressing newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Monday, July 27.
He reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that there are consequences for failure to reward those that suffered for the party. The group also pleaded for the intervention of President Buhari in the executive and legislative feud.
