Breaking: Buhari, APC governors hold virtual meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding a virtual meeting with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), The Nation has reported.

Legit.ng gathered that the meeting took off at about 11:25 am.

The chairman of the PGF and Kebbi state governor, Atiku Bagudu, is physically present for the meeting while others are participating virtually.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha and the chief of staff to the president, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, are also physically at the meeting.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the ruling APC campaign monitoring sub-committee of the national campaign council for Edo state governorship election on Thursday, July 16, met to strategise over the September 19 governorship election in the state.

It was reported that the meeting, which took place behind-closed-doors at the national secretariat of the party, lasted for about 45 minutes before it was moved to an undisclosed venue in the capital city.

It was gathered that in attendance were the chairman of the sub-committee and Imo governor, Hope Uzodinma, who is also the deputy chairman of the national campaign council; the deputy Senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege and Professor Julius Ihonvibere among others.

The party's flagbearer, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and his running mate, Gani Audu, were also in attendance. The committee members and Ize-Iyamu failed to speak to newsmen.

In another report, some members of the APC professionals registered under the umbrella of APC Professional Forum (APCPF) threatened mass exit if the party continues to ignore them in appointive positions.

The members of the forum comprise technocrats, intellectuals, experts and professionals across all fields, work, disciplines and areas of endeavours that are card-carrying members.

The national coordinator of the group, Akeem Akintayo, made this known while addressing newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Monday, July 27.

He reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that there are consequences for failure to reward those that suffered for the party. The group also pleaded for the intervention of President Buhari in the executive and legislative feud.
