The rift between the governor and his deputy intensified on Saturday, June 20, as Governor Akeredolu allegedly prevented Agboola from leaving the state house with government's cars.

Agboola, who is eyeing the state's biggest stool, is said to have obtained PDP nomination form and is expected to officially declare his interest ahead of the primary election.

The embattled deputy governor has accused Governor Akeredolu of using the police operatives to intimidate him after he was prevented from taking his official cars from the government house premises.

Amid specks of dust, Agboola said that he remains the deputy governor of the state despite the irreconcilable difference that pitched him against his boss.

“It is a painful thing that I am leaving the APC, but there is time for everything. As a Nigerian, I have the fundamental freedom to belong to any party or group," Agboola said as he left the ruling party ahead of the state election.
