Kano again loses prominent leader Ibrahim Inuwa

A prominent northern leader and 16th president of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ibrahim Khaleel Inuwa, is dead.
Daily Trust reports that he died on Monday, May 11, in Kano at the age of 71.
Legit.ng gathered that he was a renowned Nigerian engineer and distinguished Abusite, who was the first person from the northern part of Nigeria to head the respected engineering body.
The deceased was born on April 15, 1949, in Gwale local government in Kano city, and had his primary education at Kofar Kudu Junior Primary School, Emir’s palace, Kano from 1956 to 1959, and at Gwale Senior Primary School, Kano 1960-1962.

He received his secondary education at Government College Kaduna 1963-1967 where he obtained West Africa School Certificate with Division One and Rumfa College Kano, 1968-1969 for his Cambridge Higher School Certificate.
According to the report, family sources said he left behind one wife and nine children.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that Nasidi Nuhu, a former director of Bayero University Health Services; Yusuf Wakili Yola, a journalist; Ubale Ibrahim, Kannywood actor, were among the latest persons to have died in Kano.

It was reported that on Thursday, April 30, Aliyu Daneji, father of Sani Aliyu, national coordinator of the presidential task force; Khadijah Abdallah, wife of Kabiru Bayero, a former ambassador; and Tijjani Yarwa, a businessman based at Kwanar Jaba in Nassarawa local government area of Kano joined the list of those who have passed away.
Since Kano recorded its index COVID-19 case in April, it has been hit by a wave of "strange deaths" which is causing panic in the northern state.
Hundreds of people died within one week in the state, with some suspecting it could be related to COVID-19.
However, the government dismissed such suspicion, attributing the deaths to diabetes, malaria and hypertension.
In another report, amid strange death in Kano, another prominent monarch, Alhaji Yusuf Bayero, died in the state.
It was reported that the deceased was the Dan’iya of Kano. He was the district head of Dawakin Kudu local government area of the state. Bayero was said to be the first district head Ajingi local government area in the history of Kano state.
