- Neymar Jr was greatly affected by Kobe Bryant's death
- The five-time NBA champion died in a helicopter crash along with his daughter and couple of other people
- The Brazilian star had fond memories of the NBA legend due to the qualities they have in common
Former Barcelona star Neymar Jr appeared to have been greatly disturbed by the untimely death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star died in a helicopter crash earlier this year along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and a few other people on board.
Kobe's death sent the world into shivers as superstars from all overpaid tributes to the five-time NBA champion.
The Paris Saint Germain winger also joined the rest of the world to pay homage to the 2008 NBA MVP by dedicating a goal to him.
Neymar also represented his jersey number 24 with his fingers holding up fingers on one hand, and then four on the other in February.
Both of them share memories having met at several events with Bryant expressing his love for two European giants AC Milan and Barcelona.
Apart from the former Santos star, Romelu Lukaku, Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos have also opened up on how Kobe's death affect them.
While recounting his experience, the Brazilian told Vogue Men Arabia: "His death affected me a lot because our lives had much in common.
"I met Kobe personally and the times he came to Paris. When you meet the person behind the athlete, it creates a different relationship and with Kobe, it was very special. Sports and society lost a great guy."
Meanwhile, Goal.com reports that Neymar has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona this summer after an attempt to recapture him last summer failed.
The winger parted ways with the Catalan club in 2017 in a world record fee of around €222 million but his reign at the French club has been hampered by series of injuries.
He has won back-to-back Ligue 1 titles but his efforts to win another Champions League title has been shambles.
Legit.ng earlier reported that former Real Madrid manager Vicente del Bosque has warned Barcelona to be careful in their quest to re-sign Brazilian winger Neymar Jr.
The Catalans will make another attempt to bring their ex-player back to Camp Nou this summer after their effort last year failed.
It would be recalled that the 28-year-old left the Catalan club in a world-record fee of about £200 million, he is however said to be unhappy at the club.
