Kayode Fayemi, the chairman of Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) has penned down an emotional message to celebrate the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the occasion of his 68th birthday.
The Nation reports that Fayemi, who is also the governor of Ekiti state, said that Tinubu would continue to bestride the Nigerian political firmament for many years to come.
Legit.ng gathered that he described Tinubu as a leader of leaders in the nation’s political system, saying the APC stalwart has paid his dues in the country’s political firmament and beyond, thus, deserving the respect of all and sundry across party lines.
The governor, in a birthday message signed on Saturday, March 28, in Ado-Ekiti by his chief press secretary, Yinka Oyebode, said Tinubu’s incalculable sacrifice and contributions to the enthronement and consolidation of Nigeria’s democratic governance are indelible and legendary.
He observed that Tinubu’s political career started on a good footing when he was elected the senator representing Lagos West senatorial district, Lagos state in 1992 and had since remained a major factor in the politics of the country through his numerous leading roles notably as an exiled opposition leader to military dictatorship.
Fayemi who lauded Tinubu’s political exploits, sagacity and his pathfinding roles in the current political dispensation since inception in 1999, said he remained a major factor in the country’s political equation.
“Certainly, Asiwaju’s actions inspire us -his admirers – to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. He is a political colossus who will continue to bestride the Nigerian political landscape for many more years to come.
“While wishing you a joyous birthday, I wish to observe as one of your admirers that you have indeed paid your dues and your birthday has become a festival, even if the COVID-19 has precluded us from a deserved celebration in your honour.
“On behalf of my family, the government and good people of Ekiti state, the land of honour, I wish our indefatigable leader many more productive years in the service of our fatherland even as you retain your charm and political sagacity,” Fayemi said.

It was reported that Tinubu said this in the statement he wrote in commemoration of his 68th birthday.
The former governor of Lagos said: “The public health care systems of developed nations have been overwhelmed by this virus. They are running out of equipment and healthy doctors."
In another report, no fewer than forty-one guests and workers of a hotel in Owerri, the capital of Imo state would spend the next two weeks in quarantine after state officials monitoring compliance with regulations on COVID-19, swooped on the premises on Saturday, March 28, and locked everyone in.
A man who recently returned to Okpanam community, Oshimili North local government in Delta state, was arrested and forced to self-isolate after he assaulted health officials.
