COVID-19: Davido's wife-to-be Chioma tests positive

- Nigerian singer Davido has announced that his family and close contacts recently got tested for coronavirus

- The singer noted that the test took place on Wednesday, March 25, and his wife-to-be Chioma has tested positive

- Davido added that he and his son, Ifeanyi, are negative. He also said he would go into full isolation for 14 days.

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that his wife-to-be, Chioma Avril Rowland, has tested positive for coronavirus. The singer noted that he and his son, Ifeanyi, tested negative.

The singer made the announcement in a series of tweets on the popular micro-blogging platform. He explained that he recently got back from the United States and his wife-to-be came back from the United Kingdom with their son, Ifeanyi.

According to him, even though they showed no symptoms they decided to get tested on Wednesday, March 25. He said their close contacts also got tested.

He added that the test came back and Chioma tested positive. The singer also noted that even though Chioma tested positive the thirty-one others who got tested came back negative, including himself and his son.

Davido said Chioma is yet to show symptoms but she is now being quarantined. He added that he has also gone into full isolation for a minimum of fourteen days. He thanked everyone for their endless love and prayers.

The singer also advised people to stay at home as the spread of the virus is being controlled.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that on March 16, 2020, popular British actor, Idris Elba, took to social media via his Twitter page to reveal the sad news that he has now also tested positive to the deadly coronavirus.

The handsome actor in a video shared on his page said that he has not started experiencing symptoms of the disease but that he decided to get tested after he discovered that he was recently exposed to someone who had also tested positive.

Idris then told his fans that now is the time to take social distancing and washing one’s hands seriously because the epidemic is real. In the caption that accompanied the video, he wrote: “This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok; I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”
