- Famous Nigerian musician, Yemi Alade, has spoken about how a man once offered her 20 cows for marriage

- Yemi said that the proposal did not go well because the man's friend said that she is fat and cannot build houses

- This was one of the encounters the musician had with the Masai people whom she described as very resourceful

Popular Nigerian musician, Yemi Alade, has said that a Masai once offered her 20 cows to ask for her hands in marriage.

The Shake singer said that what dealt the marriage proposal a deadly blow was that the Masai’s friend said she is too fat and cannot build houses.

It should be noted that the Masai people, according to Wikipedia, are a Nilotic ethnic group in northern, central and southern Kenya. They can also be found in northern Tanzania.

They are about the most popular local people because their homes are always very close to game parks of the African Great Lakes.

In addition to her post, she said Masai’s wives have their houses close to each other. Yemi also commented on the skillfulness of the ethnic group in building construction.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Iyabo Ojo, a popular Nollywood actress and producer, reportedly reacted to the news that Fathia Balogun got engaged to her boyfriend.

It should be noted that Fathia’s marriage with Said Balogun broke down in 2006 but was formally annulled in 2014. News of the Nollywood actress trying out love for the second time has gone viral online as many celebrated her bravery.

Barely days after the announcement of the engagement, Iyabo Ojo, who is known to have had a long feud with Fathia, shared a short humorous video on her Instagram.

Though she never mentioned any name in the said video, the timing and inference drawn from the video could be seen as her response to the engagement news.

In the said video, she laughed hysterically as she said (loosely translated from Yoruba): “What is not funny? It is very funny”.

In other news, popular Hausa actress, Maryam Booth, spoke about the leak of her unclad video which went viral online.

In a statement which she posted on her Instagram page on Saturday, February 8, she said she would have wanted not to talk until forensic research and investigations have been completed.

She, however, said what has made her comment on the issue was the statement from Ibrahim Ahmad Rufuai aka Deezell, also her ex-boyfriend.
