Nollywood actor Alabi Yellow dies after battling stroke for months

Tragedy has once found its way into the Nigerian movie industry following the recent announcement of the death of Samuel Akinpelu popularly known as Alabi Yellow.

According to reports by Vanguard, the heartbreaking news was made public by a Nollywood group platform identified as Nollywood First.

More reports have it that the actor passed away during the early hours of Sunday, December 22, at his Ikorodu residence in Lagos state.

Recall that Yellow had started his battle with stroke way back in 2018, shortly after his wife passed away. He had gotten a handsome donation of N10m from popular cleric Reverend Esther Ajayi.

Before his death, the veteran actor who is mostly known to feature in Yoruba movies played one of the major roles in popular filmmaker Kunle Afolayan’s Mokalik.

In a related story, some weeks ago Legit.ng reported that another Nollywood member was claimed by death. The actor and movie director identified as Theodore Anyanji passed away, after battling a critical sickness.

According to reports, Anyanji passed away on Saturday, November 23, at a prayer healing church in Festac, Lagos state. He was said to have been battling heart and kidney problems before he passed away. It was also revealed that he has been taken to Umuaka, Imo state for burial.
