- A US politician has taken to social media to share a story of how he was deceived into believing he was going to be a father
- According to the 25-year-old, his girlfriend had just told him that the baby they were expecting and even planning a baby shower for, wasn't his
- Heartbroken over the news, he took to his Instagram page to call off the shower, expressing his hurt and disappointment
The joy that often comes with the news of a baby on the way is something most people look forward to. However, this US politician identified as Fred Green, had his hopes lifted up and crushed to the ground.
The 25-year-old who recently cancelled the baby shower he had planned and sent out over 200 invites for, opened up on how his girlfriend broke the news via text message that he was not the father of her child and she couldn't bring herself to tell him, after six months into pregnancy.
He wrote: "On April 25, 2019 The girl I was dating told me I was going to be a Father. I was nervous and scared at the same time, we wasn’t sure what we was going to do. In all honesty either of us wasn’t ready for a baby. However, we decided to except that fact that we were both grown enough to make the baby so we have to take responsibility and we decided to have the baby."
According to him, he has been to every doctors appointment, heard the baby’s first heart beat, and was there for the ultrasound. He said he filled with joy to be having his first child and more excited when he found out it was a boy.
His joy soon turned sour when on October 25, 2019 at 10:27am, his girlfriend sent him a text, informing him that the baby is not his.
"I’ve never been so hurt in my life, at that very moment it felt like I was shot 10 times in the heart. I couldn’t believe what I had just read through a text message. I’m hurting because I really was looking forward to being a father, I began to change my whole life around in anticipation of a new baby," he added.
According to Green, time heals all wounds and this too shall pass.
