Buhari to attend Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh

- President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, October 28, leave Abuja for Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for a three-day Future Investment Initiative (FII) programme

- The president will also be using the opportunity to talk about the productive business environment in the country

- FII will be covering issues such as energy, mobility, youth, shopping, travel, data, among other things

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, October 28, depart Abuja for Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) which put together by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The theme of the FII will be What’s Next for Global Business? and is billed to un from Tuesday, October 29, to Thursday, October 31.

It will also focus on three very important areas which are: sustainable future, technology for good, and advanced society.

According to the president’s media aide, Garba Shehu, the event will be held under the host of King Salman bin Abdulaziz , the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulazz.

At the event President Buhari will be speaking on the economic opportunities that abound in Nigeria and how his government has improved the nation’s business environment so as to attract investors into the country.

The focused is targeted at using investment to drive growth, disruptive technologies and use same tackle global challenges.

It should be noted that more than 4,000 delegates from over 90 countries are expected to attend FII 2019 where there will be 20 different workshops on topics like data, mobility, food, travel, youth, shopping, energy, among other things.

After the investors’ conference, Buhari will go to Makkah, accompanied by close personal aides, to observe the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) before returning to Abuja.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Buhari departed Abuja, Nigeria on Monday, October 21, to attend a three day Russia-Africa summit in Sochi, his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, has said.

The summit, according to the presidential statement, will hold between October 23 and October 25, and would focus on exploring and expanding opportunities in security, trade and investment, science and technology, as well as gas production.

The statement said Buhari would be accompanied by Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti.
