Brazil vs Nigeria: Rohr says Uzoho's injury is only negative thing from friendly

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has taken time out to speak on one negative thing during Brazil vs Nigeria friendly at Singapore National Stadium, on Sunday, October 13.

The encounter which ended 1-1, saw Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho suffer a horrible injury after landing awkwardly during an aerial battle with Casemerio.

Following the injury, the shot-stopper will be sidelined for a minimum of six months, claims Eagles team doctor Ibrahim Gyaran.

Now coach of the team, Gernot Rohr has revealed Uzoho's injury is the only negative thing from the game against Brazil.

“I am happy we stayed organized even when the Brazilians mounted a lot of pressure on us in the second half. The only negative thing is the injury to (Francis) Uzoho,” the Franco-German noted.

Interestingly, Joe Aribo netted the opening goal of the contest after 35 minutes, but Brazil equalized three minutes after the restart as both sides held on to end the contest 1-1 at full-time.

“This result is a good confidence booster for the team. We now have to prepare for the more competitive games next month.

“I am happy we stayed organized even when the Brazilians mounted a lot of pressure on us in the second half,” Rohr submitted.

Uzoho landed awkwardly in the 62nd minute after contesting for the ball with Brazil’s Casemiro inside the box and was stretched off as he could not continue the game.
