Promise Sawyers: Little black girl makes big race statement with her afro

- The following day, the little girl made a short video, explaining to the world how she would come out of everything bigger and better
Promise Sawyers, a little girl in 5th grade in Nashville, Tennessee, became a world sensation when she spoke about how she confronted her bullies.
She became a subject of bully when she started a new school and wore the afro she is used to after she took out her braids, Fox 17 News reports.
While the students in her a former school always praised her afro, the kids at the new school teased her instead.
Qui Daugherty, her mother, said that she always taught her daughter on the need to confront any form of negativity with positivity.
When Promise reported how she dampened at school, her mother advised against giving people the power to control her emotion.
The following day, she took her mother’s advice and made her video to inspire herself, explain what had happened and how she will handle her bullies.
In her final comment, she says she's bigger and better and said she would not allow anybody to negatively affect her joy.
She ended the short video by her asserting herself and saying she is Promise Sawyers.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a 17-year-old girl, Lindsey Smith, surprised the world as she invested her resources into helping hundreds of people affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas.
The teenager’s mother, Lynell Smith, said that when her daughter learnt about the victims of the natural disaster, she really wanted to help.

The mother said that when she got to know that the disaster created a wide gap for the need for shoes, she said she would gladly help.
It was gathered that her humanity service was very much influenced by her background and training in Girl Scout.
