Born on August 8, 1992 to Rick and Lori Cott, he grew up in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. His father was a pilot in the Air Force before shifting his career to become an investment manager. Casey has two siblings, an older brother and a younger sister, Carly Cott. His brother, Corey Cott, is also an actor.
He went to Chagrin Falls High School and later joined Boston University. After two years, he transferred to Carnegie Mellon University to pursue acting. He completed the course successfully and graduated in May 2016.

Casey’s acting career started by taking up small roles at a local theatre in Ohio. Some of the productions he took part in were Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Romeo and Juliet among so many more. In 2014, he participated in a play entitled 'Parade in Pittsburgh'. Casey and a number of his classmates were hosted at the New Hazlett Theater to perform the play.
