Kano emirates: The 4 we created recently have come to stay forever - Ganduje

- Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje says the new additional four emirates in the state have come to stay

- Ganduje, who stated this on Sunday, July 7, also says his government will upgrade the general hospitals located within the headquarters of the newly created emirates to 400 beds capacity

- The governor says health sector is too dear to his administration, saying his government has to be committed and serious in making Kano population a healthy population

Kano state governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Sunday, July 7, said that the new additional four emirates in the state have come to stay.

The governor stated this when he paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Rano, Alhaji (Dr) Tafida Abubakar (Autan Bawo), over the death of his son, Aliyu Tafida, who lived for 20 years, The Nation reports.

Legit.ng gathers that the governor also said his administration would upgrade the general hospitals located within the headquarters of each of the four newly created emirates to 400 beds capacity, so as to improve the health delivery system.

He said: “My administration is determined to make people understand the viability and necessity for such new Emirates. One of it is our intention to move the health care delivery system to a more progressive level."

According to the governor, Kano is now one of the states that have the best healthcare delivery system.

He said: "We are determined to make our position in this sector, more profound, more pronounced and more consolidated. When the upgrade are completed, Kano will be second to none in this area, among sister states.”

Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state said the law creating four new additional emirate councils in the state was irreversible having gone through all the constitutionally required processes.

Speaking on Saturday, May 11, at ceremony organised for the four newly appointed emirs, the governor called on aggrieved individuals protesting against the creation of the new emirates to exercise restraint.
