James Bond actor Bryan Marshall dies at 81

- British actor, Bryan Marshall, has died at the age of 81

As it is certain that the rising sun will eventually set, so is the reality of death. Today, Wednesday, June 26, Britain mourns one of its most talented and successful actors in the movie industry, Bryan Marshall.

The actor who died at the age of 81 was popular for his role in the famous James Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me, in which he played the role of Commander Talbot in 1977’s 007 production.

His agent, Esta Charkham from ECA (Esta Charkham Associates), confirmed the news on Twitter. She wrote: "So sad that my dear old chum Bryan Marshall has gone on ahead. A wonderful actor - he was so good you never noticed how good he was. He was a valued chum. His credits are a catalogue of classic British and Australian TV. Fare Forward Dearest Bryan!"

Marshall, born in Battersea, London, began his acting career in the 1960s with a breakout role in Alfie alongside Michael Caine. He went onto star as Councillor Harris in crime flick The Long Good Friday but was famous for his role in the Bond movie.

Starring alongside Roger Moore who played the role of 007, Marshall’s character had his submarine captured at the beginning of the film before later being rescued by Bond.

The actor also made an appearance in another Australian daytime soap, Home & Away.

Aside from his acting roles, Marshall delved into TV presenting and hosted Australia’s Most Wanted in 1989, a version of hit US series America’s Most Wanted.

Meanwhile, it is a time of sadness in the Nigerian movie industry as a young and fast-rising star, Kagho Harley Akpor, lost his life.

The actor, writer and director is said to have lost his life by drowning at the swimming pool of a popular hotel in Delta state.

Details about the incident is sketchy, but it was gathered that Akpor was in Delta state for a movie shoot when the sad incident occurred.
