Show more respect to Buhari, Goodluck Jonathan tells Omokri

An aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has revealed that his former principal called him and appealed that he should show more respect and kindness to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Omokri made this known on social media saying: “I just don't know how God created Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

“I have never met a man, whether pastor, imam or pope, with as much humility as former President Jonathan.

“He called me and appealed to me to show more respect and kindness to Muhammadu Buhari. Would Buhari do that to him or OBJ or IBB?” he asked.

It was, however, not known the circumstances that led to the conversation between Jonathan and Omokri, who is seen as one of the critics of the current administration.

Jonathan had lost the 2015 presidential election to Buhari, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Legit.ng earlier reported how Jonathan, in an Easter message, urged the citizens of the country not to despair over the various challenges including violence and insecurity facing the nation.

Jonathan, in an Easter message to Nigerians, noted that the country has all it takes to end the anger and insecurity now taking a toll on the nation.

The former president urged the citizens to learn from the teachings of Jesus Christ who is being honoured with the celebration by loving their neighbours and ensuring the unity of the country.

Jonathan had also recently disclosed that his belief in the future of African democracy was the reason he decided to sacrifice his personal ambition for a second term in 2015.

Jonathan, then candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), sought re-election into office as president of Nigeria, but was defeated by Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
