Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez rejoined Manchester United’s training session on Saturday after finally teaming up with squad members at their US tour base in California.

According to a UK Sun report, the 29-year-old forward was reportedly delayed by visa issues following his 16-month suspended tax fraud sentence during his spell at Barcelona, and is likely to be on parade against San Jose Earthquakes on Monday.

The Chilean could not catch the initial flight out to Los Angeles last Sunday, where the Red Devils squad trained before their 1-1 draw with Mexican side Club America in Arizona on Thursday.

Sanchez was sighted in Wilmslow wearing a new look, with reports suggesting his past dealings with Spanish tax authorities denied him from entering the US.

Interestingly, in February, Sanchez coughed out about £890,000 fine in order to avoid prison after accepting a 16-month sentence no thanks to issues centered on defrauding the Spanish government over image rights claims at Barcelona.

The former Arsenal forward trained alone at home before arriving on Saturday, immediately joined the rest of the gang to show off some of his workaholic qualities.

Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho was initially disturbed that the Chilean absence from pre-season may likely affect his fitness level going into the new Premier League campaign.

The Chilean forward is experiencing his first pre-season since 2013 after the South American nation did not progress to the just concluded 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, but must now increase his training regimes to be in shape ahead of Manchester United's Premier League opener against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Friday August 10.

The Red Devils are likely to miss most squad members for the encounter, with players like Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku all enjoying an extended vacation after playing in the final weekend of the Mundial in Russia.

The Old Trafford side are short of quality going forward, thus making the Chilean’s arrival a major boost for the Premier League side.

Interestingly, the non-appearance of Sanchez and the World Cup stars from the Manchester United team that faced Club America meant that only 37,000 fans were in stands at Glendale.

Juan Mata's goal was enough to secure a draw in their first of five pre-season fixtures in the US, which moves to San Jose in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday.

Manchester United will then travel to Carson to battle Serie A side AC Milan on July 26 in their opening game of the International Champions Cup.

The Red Devils will test the might of Premier League rivals two days later before 100,000 fans in Michigan.
