Only God can determine my political future, not Okorocha - Araraume boasts

- He advised the governor to get busy with projects that will benefit the people of Imo state

Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has said that his political future is only in the hands of God, not Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state.

The senator, who is also one of the top governorship aspirants in the state, on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) reacted to a recent report which claimed that the governor has resolved to retire him from politics come 2019, The Independent reports.

Ararume, in a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ogbenna, his media aide, said he was more grounded in politics than Okorocha actually is, adding that he was relying on God and the people to make his dreams come true.

Araraume said he is busy assisting the ruling party to strengthen its structures in the state and therefore advised Okorocha to invest his time on issues that were meaningful and profitable to the people of Imo.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the confusion and tension in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo state further widened on Sunday, March 18, when its national organising secretary, Osita Izunaso; senators Ifeanyi Araraume and Benjamin Uwajiumogu stormed out of a meeting.

Legit.ng gathered that the closed-door meeting, which held at Concorde Hotel in Owerri, was still ongoing when the three party chieftains walked out midway.
