President Muhammadu Buhari has been nominated into the board of a West African Action Network On Small Arms (WANSA).

The organisation made this known through an open letter to the president seen by Legit.ng and dated Wednesday, March 21.

Legit.ng gathered that WANSA is a sub-regional Non-Governmental Organisation focused on the fight against small arms and light weapons in the West African region.

The letter stated that President Buhari's nomination “is in appreciation of your dedication in eliminating gun violence and related crises in Nigeria and the West African sub-region."

The organisation also expressed optimism that the president will not only accept to be a board member, but also go ahead to be a board chairman.

“As hopeful chairman of the advisory board of WANSA West Africa, we are optimistic that such regional position will motivate you into doing more for the country, West Africa sub-region and put Nigeria in a special position on global map, especially in the area of combating illegal proliferation of arms,” the letter stated.

Meanwhile, a member of Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Danlami Mohammed Kurfi has predicted that President Buhari will win the 2019 presidential election, should his party All Progressives Congress (APC), field him during the election.

Speaking with some journalists in Katsina on Saturday, March 31, Kurfi who represents Dutsin-ma/Kurfi Federal Constituency in the state on the platform of the APC said from all calculations, the president is the only capable candidate standing for the 2019 presidential election who no one can defeat.
