Over 400 federal civil servants plead with Buhari, National Assembly over careers
- 400 federal civil servants have pleaded with President Buhari and National Assembly to review their promotions

Over 400 serving deputy directors in the federal civil service have petitioned federal government and the National Assembly alleging denial of promotions to the next rank.
The aggrieved officials, under the aegis of concerned deputy directors, administration, demanded the intervention of relevant bodies in granting them their entitlements.
Guardian reports that they sent their protest letters to the Presidency, the National Assembly, chairman, federal civil service commission and the secretary, council of retired federal permanent secretaries.

According to the petition, “Deputy directors administration were promoted last in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and have matured to be considered for promotion to the post of directors administration in years 2015, 2016 and 2017 but have not been given the opportunity to sit for the examination.
''The affected public servants who denied knowledge of the litigation filed by six petitioners who dragged the head of civil service of the federation and federal civil service commission before the National Industrial Court, Abuja, noted that “most of the aggrieved officers have retired from the federal civil service.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that they resolved to embark on an indefinite strike action over non-payment of their N200 billion salaries and emoluments.
The workers under the aegis of the Association of Senior Civil Servants said the strike would go on if the federal government fails to address the issue.
