Prof. Aruwa Establishes Public Finance Policy Reviews to Strengthen Transparency and Accountability

Prof. Suleiman Aruwa of Nasarawa State University, Keffi has officially established the Public Finance Policy Reviews, a groundbreaking platform designed to promote transparency, accountability and sustainable management of public finances for national development.

The initiative provides independent, evidence-based and solution-oriented reviews of public finance policies, laws and institutions. It is designed to assess implementation, measure effectiveness, identify gaps, risks, and deliver practical recommendations to improve governance.

The platform will focus on critical areas including public financial management, revenue mobilisation, public sector performance among others. It will also address issues around anti-corruption, intergenerational sustainability, inclusion, governance and equity.

The Public Finance Policy Reviews will serve the government at all levels including legislators, oversight institutions, development partners and donor agencies. It will also benefit the private sector, civil society organisations and the general public.

The initiative is expected to deliver stronger revenue generation and enhance efficiency in public expenditure.
