Brighton and Hove Albion beat Everton 1-0 in the Women's Super League played at the Broadfield Stadium on Sunday evening, September 28.

The Seagulls started the game on a slow start, with Everton forward Yuka Momiki and Katja Snoeijs threatening their defence.

Brighton took the lead in the 26th minute through 19-year-old Michalle Agyemang, who scored on the rebound after brilliant work from Fran Kirby.

The Seagulls later dominated the game till the end of the first 45 minutes before failing to click in the beginning of the second half, per BBC.

Nnadozie to the rescue

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie produced a remarkable save, stopping Rosa van Gool's shot.

Ornella Vignola almost equalised for Everton but was brilliantly anticipated and saved by Nnadozie, who dived sharply to deny the forward.

Super Falcons forward Toni Payne was introduced by Everton, but she could not score or produce an assist against Nnadozie, per All Nigeria.

The former Paris FC goalkeeper made two diving saves, eight recoveries, and 72% accurate passes. The 24-year-old was named the Player of the Match against the Blues.

Following her brilliant performance at the 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Nnadozie was nominated for the 2025 Women's Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d'Or award, where she finished fourth place.

The former Rivers Angels goalkeeper won the 2024 WAFCON and was named the CAF Goalkeeper of the tournament, which played a huge role in her move from the French League to the Women's Super League.
