According to Complete Sports, the breakthrough finally came in the 84th minute when Mikel Merino nodded in Declan Rice’s cross to level the score.

“To win in the manner that we have done it, wow what a feeling!” Arteta told BBC Match of the Day.
“Football is about emotion and going through things, and today we had a beautiful one at the end of the match.”
Arteta praised his team’s resilience and intensity, as well as Newcastle’s spirited performance.
“We generated so much from open play in many ways, but Pope was incredible today. He denied us goals. Credit to Newcastle for the way they compete, but we found a way.”
The win sends a strong message to Liverpool, who dropped points in a 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace the previous day, allowing Arsenal to narrow the gap at the top of the table.
Big win at a tough ground
The victory marked Arsenal’s first goal at St James’ Park in their last three visits, breaking a difficult run in this game for the Gunners.
It was also a crucial psychological boost for the North London side, which has ambitions of ending its 20-year wait for a Premier League title.
With six games played, Arsenal sit on 13 points, just two behind Liverpool and three points ahead of Manchester City, who also won over the weekend.
The result adds further spice to a title race that is shaping up to be closely contested.
Arsenal will look to carry this momentum into their next games, as Arteta’s men appear determined to prove they can go toe-to-toe with Liverpool and Manchester City throughout the campaign.
