Victor Osimhen was absent during Galatasaray's 5-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League last Thursday, September 18.
Osimhen suffered an injury during Nigeria's 1-0 win against Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The forward announced his presence with a goal, but was ruled offside and failed to complete the match. He watched his teammates from the bench as Tolu Arokodare scored the only goal.
The 26-year-old returned to Galatasaray, where the doctors assessed his injury and confirmed it was a moderate sprain and bleeding of his ankle ligaments.

The former Napoli player missed Nigeria's match against South Africa, which ended in a 1-1 draw at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, per Punch.
Osimhen spends his weekend at the club
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is shaking off his injury with off-field activities in Istanbul.
In a viral post on X, the 26-year-old was sighted with Manchester United legend Patrice Evra and Nigerian popular singer Adekunle Gold.
Osimhen and Adekunle Gold were having a conversation before sharing pleasantries.
The Nigerian international introduced Adekunle Gold to the former France international, telling him that he is a Manchester United fan.

Osimhen to miss second match
The 2023 CAF Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen, has been excluded from the match against Konyaspor on Monday night, September 22.
According to Daily Post, Osimhen partook in the training exercise on Sunday evening despite not recovering fully. He also missed the encounter against Eyupsor.
Osimhen has scored two goals in three appearances for Galatasaray, who are currently topping the log with six wins.
