The 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony is slated for Monday, September 22, and fans across the world are anticipating the new world's best.
All roads lead to the Chatelet du Theatre in Paris; however, Manchester City star Rodri would not be able to defend his prize, having suffered an injury last September.

Meanwhile, with Real Madrid not attending the ceremony for the second time in a row, Frenchman Kylian Mbappe seems to have dropped out of the race.
The Spanish giants have continued to protest what they describe as an unfair treatment of their top scorer.
The best in women's football will also be crowned during the ceremony on Monday night, with Linda Caicedo of Colombia nominated in the best young player category. Also, the best coach as well as the best club of the season will be rewarded.
How much does the Ballon d'Or winner earn?
A lot of football enthusiasts believe that winning the Ballon d'Or comes with a huge amount of money.
Spanish outlet Marca reports that the reality is quite different: there is no direct financial compensation.
The prestigious award, which is backed by UEFA and France Football, only issues the statuette as a symbol of prestige. There are claims that the trophy is not made of pure gold, and the value is just around 3,000 euros.
However, winning it has a huge impact as clubs often offer bonuses and incentives to their award-winning players, per GOAL.
Brands also take advantage of the opportunity to sign million-dollar advertising contracts with the winners.

The unconfirmed list, which was shared, had Barcelona’s Raphinha at the top with 800 points, a tally higher than Lionel Messi’s winning totals in 2023.
