Matt Beard, a former Liverpool manager, has died at the age of 47.
The English international made a tremendous mark in the Women's Super League with his achievements.
Beard joined Burnley during the summer but resigned to pursue new opportunities after being released on gardening leave in August.

Liverpool mourn Beard
Two-time FA Women's Premier League winners Liverpool have mourned the passing away of their former manager Matt Beard.
According to BBC, the club described Beard as an extremely committed and successful manager. The statement read:
"He was also a person of real integrity and warmth, who will always be remembered with genuine fondness by everyone he worked with at the club. Rest in peace, Matt."
Beard was instrumental to Liverpool winning the WSL title back-to-back in 2013 and 2014.
After being disengaged in 2015, the 47-year-old returned to the club in 2021, winning the FA Women's Championship in his first season and promotion to the WSL.
In 2022, he finished in seventh position on the log, leading the Reds to their first-ever Champions League campaign.
WSL pay tributes to Beard
The Women's Super League (WSL) hav paid special tributes to late Matt Beard.
According to Daily Express, the WSL praised Beard for his role in developing women's football in England. The statement read:
"Everyone at WSL Football extends its deepest sympathies to the family, friends and loved ones of Matt Beard following news of his passing.
"Matt played an instrumental role in the growth of women's football and will be missed by everyone associated with the game."

Matches postponed to honour Beard
Liverpool FC has announced the postponement of their match against Aston Villa in honour of Late Matt Beard on Sunday, September 21.
According to NY Times, Villa said the postponement became necessary to respect the departed and his family. The statement read:
“Following yesterday’s devastating news of Matt Beard’s passing, our Barclays WSL fixture with Liverpool has been postponed.”

Legit.ng earlier reported that English giants Liverpool FC have expressed shock over the demise of their striker Diogo Jota.
According to the club's official website, the six-time UEFA Champions League winners said they received the news with sadness ahead of next season.
