Super Eagles Forward Set to Join Kelechi Iheanacho at Celtic

Celtic are desperate to sign Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Denis before the end of the transfer deadline.

Nottingham Forest confirmed the departure of Dennis from the club after both parties agreed to mutually terminate his contract on Saturday, August 30.

The decision ends a troubled spell for the 27-year-old Super Eagles striker at the City Ground, following his big-money move from Watford in 2022.

After his first season, the Nigerian international has been loaned to Istanbul Basaksehir, Watford, and Blackburn Rovers.

Forest confirmed the termination of the Nigerian’s contract in a brief statement on social media. The club wrote:

Celtic to revive Dennis' career

Celtic plan to sign former Nottingham Forest Emmanuel Dennis, who is currently a free agent.

According to Yahoo Sports, coach Brendan Rodgers wants to boost his attack after missing out on the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League.

The Hoops landed former Manchester City Star Kelechi Iheanacho at the Parkhead club on Tuesday night, September 2, per One Football. A Scottish journalist wrote:

“Restricted to free agents and out-of-contract forwards, Celtic are also interested in Nigerian international Emmanuel Dennis.
“The 27-year-old left Nottingham Forest by mutual consent at the end of the season after three years at the City Ground.”

Dennis will be bringing his wealth of experience from the English Premier League to the Scottish League, where he scored 20 goals in 52 appearances.
