Stadium Announcer Struggles to Pronounce Yoruba Name of Player Who Signed for La Liga Giants
- Tani Oluwaseyi has signed a five-year deal with Villarreal CF from Minnesota United for an initial €6.5 million

A stadium announcer was captured struggling to pronounce the name of a player who just completed his deal with the Spanish La Liga.
Impressive striker Tanitoluwa Oluwatimilehin Oluwaseyi has signed a five-year deal with Villarreal, after four seasons with MLS outfit Minnesota United.
He joined the La Liga outfit for an initial fee of around €6.5 million with an additional €3 million in potential add-ons.

The Spanish club said in an official statement:
"Villarreal CF and Minnesota United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Tani Oluwaseyi, who will play as a Yellow for the next five seasons, until June 2030.

"Tanitoluwa Oluwatimilehin Oluwaseyi (Abuja, Nigeria, 15/05/2000) is a forward who stands out for his physical power and pace to attack space.
"Versatile across the front line, he can play in different attacking positions. He also boasts strong aerial ability and notable link-up play, enabling him to create and provide assists frequently.
"At 25 years old, he already has valuable experience in American football, where he has posted impressive numbers.
"In 50 MLS appearances with Minnesota United FC, he scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists."
At the player's unveiling, the stadium announcer at the Arena Stadium struggled to pronounce the player's Yoruba names.
Oluwaseyi then appeared in the video and called out his own name, but added that it could be shortened to 'Tani'.
Although he was born in Abuja, Oluwaseyi moved to Canada at a tender age and joined Erin Mills SC and GPS Academy at the age of 10.

He proceeded to the College in 2018, where he played for St. John's Red Storm at the St. John's Red Storm men's soccer team representing St. John's University in New York City.
Oluwaseyi signed his first professional contract in 2021 when he joined Manhattan SC, where he made just two appearances. He moved to Minnesota United in 2022.
Meanwhile, fans have continued to react to his transfer to Villarreal on social media.

Arokodare to join Wolverhampton
Legit.ng earlier reported that Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare has reached an agreement in principle to join English Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The striker, born in Lagos, Nigeria, has been impressive for Dutch club Genk since he joined in the summer of 2023.
