Victor Osimhen is enjoying a great time with his Galatasaray teammate after signing for the club permanently, and recently had a funny moment with a teammate.

Osimhen spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, and his performances prompted the club to sign him for a record-breaking €75 million from Napoli.

As noted by Transfermarkt, his haul of 37 goals and eight assists prompted the champions to rival Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal for his signature.

Al-Hilal offered him about €45 million per year in salary, but he turned it down and accepted about half of that to continue his career in Turkey.

He made his second debut as a substitute in the 3-0 win against Fatih Karagumruk. He scored, but it was ruled out after he was adjudged to have been offside.

Osimhen makes a promise to his Galatasaray teammate

Osimhen needed no time to get used to his Galatasaray, having played with many of them during his loan spell last season, with German international Leroy Sane being the high-profile addition.

As seen in a video which has gone viral on TikTok, the Super Eagles forward had a moment, during which he brought back some Nigerian football field gimmick.

The striker promised his teammate Gabriel Sara dinner at a fancy restaurant if he scored a free kick in a small post, facing a wall of himself, Mauro Icardi, Davison Sanchez and Lucas Torreira.

Unfortunately, the Brazilian midfielder missed the kick, narrowly off target, thus saving the Turkish Super League’s highest-paid player some cash on the reward date.

Brazilian midfielder Sara was quizzed after the match about the permanent arrival of the Super Eagles forward, to which he joked that he should not have been brought back.

"He's my biggest enemy. I see him as a rival, but in a good way. Jokes aside, his arrival was also very important for the team. We expect him to score many goals this season,” he told Galatasaray’s official website.

Sara was Galatasaray’s record transfer after signing for the Turkish champions for €18 million from Norwich in July 2024, before Osimhen's €75 million fee smashed that record.

Osimhen sparks outrage in Turkey

Legit.ng reported that Victor Oimhen caused outrage in Turkey after a popular mosque in the city of Konya was renamed after the Galatasaray star on Google Maps.

The worshippers expressed their satisfaction after the incident because the striker is a Christian and does not even play for their city club, Konyaspor.
