Ousmane Dembele is currently topping the list of the updated 2025 Ballon d'Or, with Lamine Yamal trailing behind the French international.
France Football announced the nominees list for the 2025 awards on Thursday, August 7, in the men's and women's categories, while the special awards will be announced during the ceremony.
The top 10 players include six from PSG, two from Barcelona, one from Liverpool, and one from Real Madrid.
Mohamed Salah has dropped from third to fifth place, while Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe holds eighth position.

5. Mohamed Salah
Two-time CAF Player of the Year, Mohamed Salah, was unarguably the best Premier League player in the 2024/25 season. His explosive performance won him the Golden Boot with 29 goals and the Playmaker's Award with 18 assists.

Raphinha scored a total of 34 goals and 25 assists in 57 matches in the 2024/25 season, and was the highest goalscorer (13 goals) and top assister (9 assists) in the UEFA Champions League last season, per Transfermarkt.
Despite his achievements, the former Leeds United player remains in the shadow of Spain's Lamine Yamal.
3. Vitinha
Portuguese midfielder Vitinha played a vital role in the treble of Paris Saint-Germain in the 2024/25 season.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in the Les Parisians winning the Champions League for the first time.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers player scored a total of eight goals and five assists in the 2024/25 season before going ahead to win the Nations League with Portugal, per Goal.

18-year-old Lamine Yamal took the football world by storm under Hansi Flick, as he guided Barcelona to win the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Spanish Super Cup, beating rivals Real Madrid to all three trophies, including in the two cup finals, per beIN SPORTS.
His dream of winning the UEFA Champions League was cut off by Inter Milan in the semifinals, but he had a splendid season, scoring 18 goals and 25 assists.

France winger Ousmane Dembele remains the overwhelming favourite to scoop the award despite losing the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup to Chelsea last month.
