They are goalkeepers, Chiamaka Nnadozie of Nigeria; Germany's Ann-Katrin Berger, Hannah Hampton of England; Cata Coll of Spain and Daphne van Domselaar of the Netherlands, Sporting News reports.
Why is it called the Yashin Trophy?
The Yashin Trophy pays tribute to Lev Yashin, the legendary USSR goalkeeper and the only shot-stopper to ever claim the Ballon d'Or.
Throughout his career with Dynamo Moscow, Yashin won gold at the 1956 Olympic Games and the 1960 European Championships, and was recognised as one of football’s most iconic and influential goalkeepers.
Introduced in 2019, which is ninety years after the birth of the man dubbed "the Black Panther," the award commemorates Yashin’s triumph atop the Ballon d'Or rankings in 1963, as it honours his unparalleled legacy in the sport.

The 2025 Ballon d'Or ceremony is scheduled for Monday, September 22, at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.
