Jose Mourinho has stated that Gareth Bale has not produce many convincing performances against top teams in recent years, Daily Mail.

The Portuguese gaffer was relieved of his duties after poor run of results which left Spurs hanging in the middle of the league table.

Bale made a January move to play under Mourinho and but only managed to earn six staring places scoring four goals in the process.

Wales have been grouped alongside Italy, Switzerland and Turkey and Mourinho laid concerns on Bale and Juventus star Aaron Ramsey as he said:

"Over the years Wales have relied a lot on Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, the two most talented players in the country.
"But when I look to the club season and how many matches Ramsey played at Juventus, there were lots of injuries.
"When we look to Gareth and how many great performances he had, how many goals he scored against the best teams, there were not many or none. It's not an easy situation for a country without many options.
"But they are always well organised and know how to create a situation to try to get the best out of the more talented players."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that former Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero could reunite with former boss Jose Mourinho at Roma this summer.

The Argentine shot-stopper worked with the Portuguese manager when they won the Europa League title in 2017.

After being told that he was surplus to requirement at Old Trafford, the 36-year-old has been linked with a move to join Boca Juniors and Racing Club.
