Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is excited that his side's captain Harry Kane will not be out for long.

The English international picked up an injury during Spurs' home defeat to Premier League defending champions Liverpool on Thursday, January 28.

And he was left out of the squad that suffered a 1-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion three days later with their title contention looking very bleak.

“The news is pretty good news. After Liverpool, no idea. Then the next day, we were thinking about three weeks, something like that.
"I don’t want to be super-optimistic, but Harry is optimistic, he has the experience of some injuries in his ankles and in Harry’s mind, it’s a couple of weeks, so let’s see if he’s right.”

Kane has been on blistering form for the North Londoners having scored 19 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions.

But, in spite of his exciting performances, Tottenham are currently trailing league leaders Manchester City with 11 points with less than 18 matches left to play this season.

Meanwhile, Mourinho could help them lift their very first title in over a decade if his side can conquer Pep Guardiola's men on April 25 at Wembley Stadium.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Tottenham Hotspur have climbed to fourth on the Premier League standings following their 3-1 comfortable win over relegation-threatened Sheffield United.
