FCT, Abuja - Ahead of the 2027 election, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has said the party is ready for the polls.
As reported recently by Daily Trust, Yilwatda stressed that no force can stop the APC from winning the presidential, governorship, and other seats in Nigeria.

The newspaper said the APC helmsman spoke during an appearance on Jay FM 101.3, a Plateau-based radio station.
Legit.ng reports that the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a smaller opposition party, has in recent months attracted interest from certain political figures dissatisfied with the ruling APC and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prominent politicians who formed the coalition that dissolved into the ADC include ex-minister, Rotimi Amaechi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna state), Peter Obi (Anambra state), Sule Lamido (Jigawa state), and Rauf Aregbesola (Osun state), as well as former Senate President David Mark.
In the same vein, the PDP, considered as Nigeria's main opposition party, vowed to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
APC stands solidly with Tinubu
But the APC leader has now dismissed the ADC coalition's chances, describing the President Tinubu administration as superb. Yilwatda called on Nigerians to remain focused and supportive, insisting that the ruling party has steered the country back on the path of prosperity.
Prof Yilwatda asserted that there is no formidable force that can defeat the APC, explaining that all the opposition parties, including the ADC coalition, “are locally based in pockets of communities spread across the country, plagued by parochialism.”
He said the opposition coalition lacks committed and determined leadership, describing it as “marriage of convenience” that would later implode.
Yilwatda cited the recent victory of the APC in the by-elections held in 12 states, saying the same fate would befall the opposition in the 2027 election. He added that his party is focused on grassroots mobilisation ahead of the next general election, with plans to speak more about President Tinubu’s socio-economic policies and 'achievements'.
