PDP Makes 1 Request From Fubara After Tinubu Lifted His Suspension
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the recently reinstated Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers not to leave the leading opposition party and urged him to do his best in making the state great again.
President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, September 17, lifted the state of emergency he declared in Rivers state on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The president said his decision was due to the breakdown of law and order in the state.

Before the suspension of democratic rule in the state, there was a power tussle between the suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, now the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, over the control of the political structure in the state.
Tinubu noted that the rift between the two political gladiators in the state has started leading to the vandalisation of national assets and, by extension, leading to economic sabotage in the state, which is the background reason for the emergency.
Reacting to the development, the PDP vice chairman (Lagos Centra), Hakeem Olalemi, while addressing journalists, called on the reinstated governor to be "very courageous, in running the affairs of the state.
The PDP chieftain explained that the deed has been done and that Governor Fubara should "continue strong and be faithful" in discharging his duty in the state.
