Speaking at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, Warri, Oyadonghan said the move was driven by a shared goal to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 elections.
“We are here to wage a political war against the ruling party at the centre, which has subjected Nigerians to untold hardship,” Oyadonghan declared.
According to him, the ADC has become the rallying point for the opposition coalition since its adoption as the united platform to face the APC in the next general election.

Oyadonghan emphasised that the party’s immediate priorities include uniting members, raising public awareness, and driving an aggressive membership campaign.
“Our focus is reconciliation, sensitisation, mobilisation and ensuring that every ward in Delta feels the presence of the ADC,” he said.
Party officials say the influx of defectors reflects growing dissatisfaction with the current administration and renewed confidence in the ADC’s vision.
Kano: APC loses key members to NNPP
Previously, Legit.ng reported that a group of prominent All Progressives Congress members in Dawakin Tofa, the home constituency of former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, have switched allegiance to the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Kano state governor Abba Yusuf received the new members during a ceremony at the Government House on Friday, August 8. His spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, confirmed the development in a statement.
Addressing the gathering, Yusuf described the mass defection from Ganduje's APC as a sign of approval for the policies his administration has implemented in the past two years. He recalled touring all 44 local government areas during the 2023 election campaign, noting that Dawakin Tofa was a strategic location in his political journey.
