FCT, Abuja - Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has said that the unity list for the March 26 All Progressives Congress (APC)'s national convention will be ready Friday, March 26.
Sule who is the chairman of the media and publicity sub-committee of the ruling APC confirmed that some geopolitical zones have already agreed on the list which will be put together on Friday, The Nation reported.
Addressing a pre-convention conference on Friday in Abuja, Sule also confirmed that the consensus arrangement remains the first option to elect the new leaders of the party.

“From what we have on the various regions, the unity list will be ready today. It will be submitted. If you are talking of consensus, you must have a unity list, because that’s the whole essence of consensus.
“If you’re having consensus, you’re going to have people who have agreed, aspirants who have agreed, stakeholders who have agreed, and also the constituency that has agreed, and in that case, that name automatically will be adopted. And that’s just the meaning of the unity list.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Governor Sule on Thursday, March 24, shed light on why the APC opted for consensus to pick party officials at the Saturday convention.

He said President Muhammadu Buhari and APC governors agreed on a consensus to ensure a hitch-free convention and avert crisis.
The governor also said the party would abide by the Electoral Act during the convention.

Meanwhile, in a bid to save the APC from collapse at the national convention, President Buhari, on Thursday, March 24, held a series of meetings with governors, party leaders and APC members in the National Assembly.
It was learnt that some governors and chairmanship aspirants of the ruling party were still against the alleged imposition of Senator Abdullahi Adamu by the president as of Thursday night.
The president is also expected to meet all the 23 APC governors jointly on Friday, March 25.
