Anambra Decides: 70-Year-Old Physically-Challenged Pensioner Votes, Says She is Yet to Collect Her Gratuity

Amaubia, Anambra state - Catherine Egbuche, a 70-year-old physically challenged woman, has voted and has declared that she came out to join the electoral process even though she is yet to receive her gratuity as a pensioner.

She voted at Amaubia Primary School, Amawbia, Anambra state, and told Legit.ng correspondent that she is the happiest woman on earth in spite of her challenges.

"I came out to vote because I want good governance. My husband is a blind man, but I am happy.
"I am a pensioner and I have not received my gratuity, but I am still happy," she said.

APC's Andy Uba votes, says nothing will stop his victory

Meanwhile, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the ongoing Anambra governorship election, Senator Andy Uba, has cast his vote.

Legit.ng reports that while speaking after voting, Uba said the election is done already as he expressed confidence that he would win.

He said:

"Everything is going well. APGA is finished and is done, PDP is nowhere."

PDP's governorship candidate sends strong message to INEC chairman after voting

In a related report, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo, has cast his vote.

After voting, the candidate of the PDP, Valentine Ozigbo said he was impressed with the turnout of voters. Ozigbo further asked the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmud Yakubu, to reach out to his staff and check out where there are issues.

Speaking on security, he said there is an abundance of security personnel which has helped to calm things down. However, Ozigbo said he didn't want to use Amezi not to judge overall and will reach out to other areas to know what is going on there.
